What is the insecticide made from?

Pyrethrum insecticide, approved for use in and around food processing plants and restaurants is considered biodegradable and is sought for sensitive applications like the post-harvest treatment of fruits and vegetable.Pyrethrum is a natural insecticide made from the dried flower heads of Chrysanthemum. The U. S. government approved its use on such insect-prone foods as tomatoes, even while they are on their way to the supermarket or processing plant.

How safe is pyrethrum?

Pyrethrum is clear and free of allergens and has a low toxicity level. It is water based and biodegradable. It is a natural insecticide that comes from chrysanthemum flowers. Insects do not build up immunity to pyrethrum as they do other chemicals and synthetic compounds dangerous to humans.

Does pyrethrum leave a residue like other chemicals and synthetic compounds?

NO. It is completely biodegradable. After pyrethrum affects the mosquitoes and other insects it decomposes harmlessly.

Will insecticides with pyrethrum harm my pets?

Used according to the label instructions, the insecticide is considered non-toxic to mammals. Pyrethrum insecticides have been used in agriculture and equine applications for a quarter century with no known harmful effects.

Is pyrethrum effective against any other insects?

Yes. Almost all insects are killed or repelled by pyrethrum including mosquitoes, flies, dirt daubers, spiders, ants, moths, gnats, roaches, ticks, fleas, beetles, wasps and all other insects.

What type of warranty does the mosquito control system have?

Quality Mosquito Control offers a lifetime parts and labor warranty on all components of our mosquito misting systems. This warranty does require that all mosquito misting system refills, service, maintenance, repairs and modifications be performed by us so that our technicians can inspect the system to ensure that all components are functioning effectively and efficiently. As long as you are on our Full Service Agreement, there will not be any additional charges unless you use more insecticide than called for in the agreement.

How often should the timer be set to come on?

The normal setting is 2 or 3 times a day for 45-60 seconds. As different pests swarm or become active, you may increase or decrease the number of sprays you use. You can also use your remote control to add an additional spray when needed.

How many nozzles will you use on my house?

Each home is different. Typically, we will place nozzles about every 10’ around the perimeter area. If you have a large area of foliage, we would probably add some nozzles in your flowerbeds. The object is to make sure we are misting everywhere mosquitos congregate. 30 to 40 nozzles will usually handle a normal backyard,

How often will my mosquito misting system need refilling?

Each system is different. A 30 – 40 nozzle system that mists twice a day for about 40 seconds will need to be refilled about every 60 – 90 days. Each time we come out we will check out the entire system. We will make sure there are no leaks, that all the nozzles are working and not clogged. We will check the pressure and if needed, flush and clean the entire system.

What is the cost of a typical mosquito misting system?

Each system is different but a typical system, including installation, will run between $2500 to $3000.

How long does it take to install the misting system?

A typical system can be installed in one day.
